“The only thing I ask myself is, why did I wait so long to join? eflute is a treasure trove, and an inspiration to keep practising and playing and learning!”

“Brilliant way to improve everything about your flute playing with superb teachers, guest artists and great group support. And best value for money around to boot”

“Living abroad, and in a rural setting, I really appreciate being part of this friendly, fun and supportive community of flute players! Having regular sessions through the week helps me to keep up my practice, and the recordings make it easy to catch up with a session if I can't make it. I feel my playing has really improved over the last couple of years thanks to this regular input from Janna and Abbie, and having the chance to perform to each other from time to time has been a great confidence builder. Thank you!”

I always watch the Eflute Academy zoom recordings after the session as I am not available when the zoom calls are live but they are still incredibly helpful. They give me so many ideas of things I can incorporate in my playing whether that is specific techniques like vibrato or tone colours or specific to a piece of music. I have often played the pieces before but the zoom recordings give me many more ideas. For example, I love playing Piazzolla and the session on Histoire du Tango with the tip about putting your right hand little finger on both the D sharp and C sharp keys at once has made such a difference to the E in the second octave. Or the idea of playing Dance of the Blessed Spirits as a young innocent person first time around and then to play the repeat as a more mature person in order to provide variation in your playing.

It's just so good to have a community of people discussing topics I am interested in and having a way of developing my playing at a time that suits me.

Thanks very much

“A very supportive flute group with excellent teaching”

“Multiple teachers for the price of one. The joy of this is that they are each different and they complement one another. Every time I join a meetup on zoom, I learn something new, something useful. The pace of my learning has increased dramatically. I think differently about my flute playing, and I think differently about my practice too. I have overcome barriers that have implacably obstructed my playing for years. As you can tell, I am just very satisfied!

On top of that I have come into contact with friendly fellow flute players who I would never otherwise have met. Weekly dose of extra energy via meeting these other students online. Provides a chance to give, to encourage and appreciate others, as well as to receive the same from them. They ask interesting questions, often ones I haven't thought of, they make a supportive audience for performance, and watching them learn provides a constant sense of enjoyment. And somehow they carry me along for the ride.

The teachers are friendly too, accessible, supportive, enthusiastic about the playing of use students, and seem to have an inexhaustible supply of experience to draw on and expert advice to give.

All of this is unbelievably good value.”

“I would describe eflute as a very friendly and supportive group where no one should feel inadequate. The programme continues to be varied and inspiring and the Tuesday evening sessions are wonderful. We can all choose to play a piece but there is no pressure to do so”

“The session last night was one of the best. It was excellent in every respect. It was extremely interesting and I loved the scholarly way Clare presented a very well crafted talk.
Fantastic. Thank you for arranging it.”

“Dear Janna and Abi
Just to say how very much I enjoyed eflute in March - I think it has been the best month yet.  The focus on French 20C music was not an obvious hit for me either in repertoire or sound. However, the month was so well structured and so varied I really do believe I learned a lot. Some of the things II particularly appreciated were:
* pieces provided from the start to work on throughout the month - high
and low; fast and slow
* flute camp and many warm-ups also linked to the theme gave a real sense
of progress
* some choice of repertoire to work with - loved the split groups!
* historical context as well as music”
